Diné Uranium Remediation Advisory Commission Meeting Announcement

The Diné Uranium Remediation Advisory Commission will hold its meeting in the Western Abandoned Uranium Mines (AUM) Region on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10 AM at the Cameron Chapter House, US-89, Cameron, Arizona 86020. The Chapter House is the blue building along US-89. This Commission meeting will be open to the public.

Diné Uranium Remediation Advisory Commission Regular Meeting

The Diné Uranium Remediation Advisory Commission will hold its regular meeting in the Eastern Abandoned Uranium Mines (AUM) Region on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10 AM at the Thoreau Chapter House, 1 Mile Marker NM-371, Thoreau, NM, 87323. The Commissioners will tour the Eastern AUM Region mines on Friday, June 27, 2027. This Commission regular meeting will be open to the public.

The purpose of the Uranium Commission is to study and reach conclusions about the impacts of uranium mining and uranium processing on the Navajo Nation and to make recommendations to the President of the Navajo Nation and to the Navajo Nation Council for policies, laws and regulations to address those impacts.

Navajo Vital Records - limited services June 10-13, 2025

This memorandum is to inform all Navajo Nation Divisions, Departments, Programs and the Public that the Navajo Office of Vital Records & Identification will have limited services at the Fort Defiance, Eastern Agency, Shiprock Agency and the Central Administration office and the Tuba City and Chinle offices will be closed beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 through 1 p.m. Friday, June 13. NOVRI will be participating in the Division of Human Resources summit.

Measles Public Health Advisory Notice

The advisory, issued on June 5, 2025, provides important public health information regarding a confirmed measles case in San Juan County, NM (off the Navajo Nation), and outlines key symptoms, prevention tips, and vaccination guidance. At this time, no cases have been reported on the Navajo Nation, but awareness is important to help protect our communities.
