Office Closure - Facilities Maintenance Department

Office Closure - Central Vital Records Office

The Central office of the Navajo Office of Vital Records and Identification located at 47552 State Highway 264, Suite F, will be closed all day on Friday, April 11, 2025.

NOTE: This office closure does not affect the Fort Defiance Vital Records agency office which is located at the Quality Inn Complex, Room 115, located behind the hotel. Their regular services are not affected.

Temporary Office Closure - Navajo Division of Family Services Financial Assistance Unit (NDCFS FAU)

All Navajo Division for Children and Family Services Financial Assistance Unit (NDCFS FAU) offices will be temporarily closed so that all NDCFS FAU staff can attend a mandatory Case Management and Ethics Work Session, beginning Monday, April 7, 2025, to Wednesday, April 9, 2025, and will resume services Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 8 AM.

  •  Rain and snow showers possible starting Tuesday, with the greatest chance for precipitation on Wednesday and Friday.

KEY POINTS 

  •  Southwest winds 20 to 35 mph gusting up to 50 mph through tonight.

  •  A strong cold front and winter storm will spread snow across the area this evening and tonight. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for Black Mesa and the Chuska Mountains through Friday morning.

  •  Another weather system brings additional snowfall Friday afternoon through early Saturday morning.

  •  Cold temperatures are forecast Friday and Saturday nights with lows in the teens and 20s.

  •  Warmer and drier weather Sunday and Monday, with additional rain and snow chances Tuesday of next week.

Lost Duo Hardware Token

 This memorandum serves as an official notice that the Navajo Nation Department of Information Technology will not provide replacements for lost hardware tokens assigned to individual employees. The Department issues hardware tokens to authorized personnel to ensure secure access to Navajo Nation systems and sensitive data. 

It is the sole responsibility of each employee to maintain possession and safeguard their hardware token. In the event that a token is lost, employees will be required to utilize a mobile device, to access their respective account.

Syllabic N

Meaning/Definition: The Syllabic consonant // or /n/ appears in certain Navajo words like: ndaané' they are playing', ntsískees 'I'm thinking', 'it was', ndi, 'but' or ndaaz 'it is heavy'. These words are sometimes written and pronounced with the vowel /i/ after /n/: nidaané 'they are playing', nitsískees, nít'éé/nít'ę́ę́', 'it was', nidaaz 'it is heavy'. The syllabic n is like a vowel in that it can have a low or high tone and in that it can form a syllable even no vowel follows it.
