2024 Annual Youth Hunt

The Navajo Nation Department of Fish and Wildlife is sponsoring the 2024 Annual Youth Hunt for Navajo youth between the ages of 12 and 16 who have an interest in hunting but don't have anyone to teach them the basics of hunting and outdoor life.

Office Closure- Department of Personnel Management

The Department of Personnel Management (DPM) office will be closed on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. DPM will be participating in a work session. Normal operation will resume on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 8:00 AM.

IMS Office Closure

The Information Management Section-Navajo Police Department will be closed all day on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The IMS Team will assist the Navajo Police Department in concluding the Dispatchers Week of festivities.

The Information Management Section—Navajo Police Department will return to regular operations at the new office site on Monday, April 22, 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience this closure will cause.

Temporary Office Closure - Ethics and Rules Office

Let this memorandum serve as official notice that the Ethics and Rules Office will be closed to attend their work session. Our office will be closed starting on April 10, 2024 at 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and will be closed April 11, 12, 2024. The Ethics and Rules office will resume regular business hours on April 15, 2024.

Pursuant to 2 N.N.C. § 3551 et esq., the Motor Vehicle Review Board (MVRB) is authorized to approve all Navajo Nation (NN) vehicle assignments, including revocation of any vehicle assignments previously made, if it deems department responsibility for proper use has not been exercised.

First case of COVID-19 U.K. variant confirmed on the Navajo Nation

On Tuesday, the Navajo Nation announced the first confirmed case of the COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 Strain Variant B.1.1.7 also referred to as the U.K. variant, from a COVID-19 test sample that was obtained in the western portion of the Navajo Nation. The U.K. variant is currently the most dominant variant in the United States and has been detected in all 50 states, including many cases in the Four Corners states.

Postcards Encouraging Households to Respond to 2020 Census Sent to P.O. Boxes

The U.S. Census Bureau is sending postcards between June 24 and July 3 to an estimated 1.3 million post office boxes in communities where P.O. boxes are the only mailing address available. The postcards alert households that a census taker may drop off census invitations soon or will visit later to interview them. The postcards also provide information on how to respond to the 2020 Census online or by phone.

TRAVEL ADVISORY RELATED TO COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS

As we learn more information about the COVID-19/novel coronavirus developments and the increasing concerns regarding the global spread of the COVID-19 virus, the health and well-being of our Navajo people is the top priority for the Nez-Lizer Administration, and this includes all of our Navajo Nation employees. At the time of this memorandum, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the Navajo Nation.

Navajo Nation Veterans Administration - Relocating to Another Building

The Navajo Nation Veterans Administration Central Administration and Fort Defiance Agency offices will be relocating this week. We are moving across the street to the former Dine Power Authority building in Window Rock, Arizona.

In the meantime, we will have limited services to provide until we are all settled into the new building. No later than Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 8:00am
