The Insurance Services Department staff which includes the Risk Management Program, Safety/Loss Control Program, Workers’ Compensation Program, and Employee Benefits Program will be participating in their annual Christmas staff event. The offices will be closed from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023

This memorandum shall serve as notice that the Navajo Education Center, which houses the Department of Diné Education programs and services, will be temporarily closed on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 9 am – 3 pm.

The Office of the Controller, including Purchasing, Credit Services, and Property Management, will be closed on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our office will be hosting a Christmas Luncheon for all OOC staff.

The Office of the Controller (OOC) is moving forward with a change management process within the Accounts Payable department. OOC will execute the strategy of automatic “Numbering Travel Authorization (TA) form” then monitor the progress. This will be a self-service process that will improve the manual request for travel authorization numbering, faster turnaround time and immediate access to the form for Navajo Nation employees who plan to travel.

OOC has identified the implementation date of December 18, 2023, to have all departments obtain their own travel authorization forms online by staff using the Financial Management Information System (FMIS).

This memorandum serves as official notification that the Division of Economic Development will be on limited services from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on December 21, 2023. The Division of Economic Development (DED) will be closed on December 21, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM due to the Division of Economic Development's Christmas Luncheon. 

All Navajo Nation Special Diabetes Program Offices & Wellness Centers will be Closed on Monday, December 18, 2023.

This memorandum is to inform all Divisions, Departments, and Programs of the current challenges the Facilities Maintenance Department (FMD) is experiencing in the replacement of HVAC systems deemed inoperable. 

All Navajo Nation Special Diabetes Program Offices & Wellness Centers will be Closed on Monday, December 18, 2023.

All Navajo Nation Fiscal Recovery Fund Office (NNFRFO) offices will be closed on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 10:30 am to 3 pm. All staff will be attending a Christmas Luncheon during this time. Offices will resume business after 3 pm.

Window Rock, Ariz. – The Navajo Nation Division of Social Services’ (DSS) will be providing limited services from Monday, December 18, 2023, to Wednesday, December 20, 2023, for staff development for all division employees. A division-wide staff symposium will be held to strengthen children and family services.

This memorandum serves as an official notification that the Department of Information Technology under the Division of General Services will be closed from December 18-22, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

NOTIFICATION TO ALL NAVAJO NATION EMPLOYEES:

It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Mr. Frank D. Roanhorse as the new Program Supervisor I of the Navajo Nation Occupational Safety &Health Administration (NNOSHA). Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Mr. Roanhorse as he assumes this important role within our organization.

Pursuant to 2 N.N.C. § 3551 et esq., the Motor Vehicle Review Board (MVRB) is authorized to approve all Navajo Nation (NN) vehicle assignments, including revocation of any vehicle assignments previously made, if it deems department responsibility for proper use has not been exercised. 

This memorandum serves as notice to all Navajo Nation Branches, Divisions, Departments, and Programs that, as of September 5, 2023, the Navajo Nation Department of Justice ("DOJ") will transition to accepting submissions for legal assistance via its online portal, HighQ. Access to HighQ is password protected. 

On Tuesday, the Navajo Nation announced the first confirmed case of the COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 Strain Variant B.1.1.7 also referred to as the U.K. variant, from a COVID-19 test sample that was obtained in the western portion of the Navajo Nation. The U.K. variant is currently the most dominant variant in the United States and has been detected in all 50 states, including many cases in the Four Corners states.

This is to inform all Navajo Nation Departments and Programs that the Office of Background Investigations telephone lines are temporarily down.

The U.S. Census Bureau is sending postcards between June 24 and July 3 to an estimated 1.3 million post office boxes in communities where P.O. boxes are the only mailing address available. The postcards alert households that a census taker may drop off census invitations soon or will visit later to interview them. The postcards also provide information on how to respond to the 2020 Census online or by phone.

This memorandum shall serve as official notification of the Spring Council Session scheduled for Monday, April 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Navajo Nation Council Chamber.
In light of the national emergency regarding COVID-19, the Spring Council Session will be held via teleconference and livestreamed.

Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer announced a new Public Health Emergency Order, extending the 57-hour weekend curfew for two additional weekends in the month of April and closing essential businesses during weekend curfews due to community spread of COVID-19. As of Wednesday, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases reached 921 with 38 deaths.

This memorandum serves as notification to the Navajo Nation Legislative Branch and all employees, the Legislative Branch will resume operations and regular business hours on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 8:00 a.m.

This is notice to all insured members of the Navajo Nation Employee Benefit Plan during this unprecedented time. The Employee Benefit Plan has exceptional benefits designed to help employees and their family recieve adequate healthcare services as well as offer disability benefits to employees in the event of their inability to work due to a serious illness.

As we learn more information about the COVID-19/novel coronavirus developments and the increasing concerns regarding the global spread of the COVID-19 virus, the health and well-being of our Navajo people is the top priority for the Nez-Lizer Administration, and this includes all of our Navajo Nation employees. At the time of this memorandum, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the Navajo Nation.

The Navajo Nation Veterans Administration Central Administration and Fort Defiance Agency offices will be relocating this week. We are moving across the street to the former Dine Power Authority building in Window Rock, Arizona.

In the meantime, we will have limited services to provide until we are all settled into the new building. No later than Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 8:00am
