New Employee Multi-Service Orientation Transition Memo and Training Dates Flyer

This memorandum serves as an official notification, that starting April 1, 2024, the Department of Personnel Management will be conducting the New Employee Multi-Service Orientation (NEMSO), as it is part of the onboarding process. The next scheduled orientation is scheduled for April 9 & 10 , 2024. This 2-day orientation is provided via Zoom from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Closure - Navajo Vital Records Tuba City Office

This memorandum is to inform the public and all Navajo Nation programs that the Tuba City Agency Vital Records office located within the Federal BIA building will be closed all day on Thursday, March 21, 2024, and also Friday, March 22, 2024, due to needed records reorganization and maintenance which will take two days to complete.

Wright Express (WEX) Fueling Credit Card Interrupted Service

Fleet Management Department is experiencing difficulty with the off-reservation WEX (Wright Express) fueling cards, causing services with the fuel cards to be momentarily interrupted. We are unsure when these services will to be restored. Currently it is a day-to-day presumption; however, we are projecting services to be restored by the end of this week, March 22, 2024.

ONNSFA 2024-2025 Academic Year Online Application Opens

The Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship & Financial Assistance's online application for the 2024-2025 academic term is now open at https://onnsfa.org/. The deadline to apply and submit the required documents is 5 pm MDT on June 25, 2024. Online applications submitted before the June 25 deadline cover the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters or Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters. The online application will close at 5 pm MDT on June 25, 2024.

Navajo Dine Action Plan Regaining Momentum While Inspiring Unfamiliar Initiatives

On March 6 and 7, 2024 the Dine Action Plan (DAP) Advisory Group and Task Group Members attended the quarterly DAP meeting in Kayenta, Arizona to plan its Data Summit. The Data Summit will help identify strategies and initiate decision making about addressing challenges on the Navajo Nation with alcohol and substance abuse, domestic violence prevention, and Missing, Murdered Dine’ Relatives.

KEY POINTS

  • Southwest winds gusting 25-35 mph expected today and Tuesday afternoon.
  • Rain/snow chances return to the forecast by Wednesday, and will continue through at least Friday.
  • Periods of blowing snow will be possible on Wednesday, with continued breezy conditions (wind gusts 25-35 mph).
  • Snow levels look will fluctuate between 5000'-7000' Wednesday through Friday.
  • Greatest snow accumulation will be expected for areas above 7500'.
  • Potential for thunderstorms Wednesday through Friday, with greater precipitation rates within individual storms.

Office Closure - Employee Benefits Program

Sexual Harassment Awareness Training Transition

Official notification that beginning March 1, 2024. the Department of Personnel Management (DPM) will provide the following compliance training: Sexual Harassment Awareness & prevention Training. Previously provided by the Staff Development & Training Department. 

All Executive and Judicial Branch employees will need to attend Compliance Training Sexual Harassment Awareness & Prevention Training every other year. Mandated by Dr. Buu Nygren and Chief Justice of the Navajo Nation Supreme Court JoAnn Jayne via Executive Order (EO No. 03-2023 & AO No. 34-2023).

The contribution percentage determined by each organization are communicated directly by the Human Resources, Benefits, or Payroll Departments to their employees.

The office of Miss Navajo Nation (OMNN) is inviting all three (3) branch Navajo Nation Government and the respective Divisions, Departments, and/or Programs to "Egg-Stravaganza Easter" celebration, hosted by Navajo Nation Zoo and Miss Navajo Nation 2023-2024, Amy N. Begaye.

Office of Background Investigations Temporary Office Closure: February 20-22, 2024

Closer - Shiprock AML Reclamation Program Office

As of Wednesday, January 24th, the Shiprock AML Reclamation Program office is experiencing a power outage due to the failure of a breaker fuse. This unexpected issue has resulted in the loss of electricity, and there is also a risk of water lines freezing. In light of these circumstances and to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, we have decided to temporarily close the office until further notice.

Navajo Nation Department of Emergency Management announces task force to prepare for the coming winter weather

Window Rock, AZ – The Navajo Nation Department of Emergency Management announces a task force composed of personnel from the Division of Public Safety to include the Navajo Nation Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Service, and Department of Corrections. This task force was created with the anticipation of the imminent winter storms projected to impact the Navajo Nation within the coming months.
