What To Say, Know What To Do."

October 7 - Awareness Outreach at Bashas'

October 16 - Domestic Violence Awareness Conference at the Chapter House

Navajo Parks and Recreation Department

This advisory is to inform the public that all the Navajo Tribal Parks will remain open during the Federal Government Shutdown. The Navajo Nation is a sovereign nation with its own tribal parks and recreational areas. The Navajo Tribal Parks that will remain open are: Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Little Colorado River, Four Corners Monument, Window Rock Veterans Memorial Park, and Tseyi Heritage Area-Cottonwood Campground. As the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department, we have a commitment to preserve and protect our natural resources, and we will remain open to serve our DinĂ© People and our traveling guests. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Navajo Tribal Parks.

This memorandum serves as an official notification that all Navajo Nation Executive Branch employees, permanent and temporary, are granted Four (4) Hours of Administrative Leave from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025. Please support the Northern Navajo Fair, the oldest fair on the Navajo Nation.

Excluded from this release are OPVP Executive Staff, Division Directors, and Deputy Division Directors who will continue with their regular business duties. Essential service workers, first responders, Chapter employees, Division of Transportation employees, and other emergency personnel will continue to follow their set schedules, unless arrangements are made with an immediate supervisor.
