WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. – The Navajo Nation Council approved Legislation 0169-25 with amendments, reauthorizing the Diné Higher Education Grant Fund Act by a vote of 17 in favor and 0 opposed, on Friday, January 30.

The Navajo Land Department - ALL AGENCY offices will be CLOSED on Monday February 2, 2026 & February 3, 2026 due to the Urgent State of the Tuba City Land Office. All offices will resume regular working hours on Wednesday February 4, 2026 at 8:00 AM.

The Office of Background Investigations will be closed on February 4-5 from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The staff will be attending the 3rd Annual Peacemaking Program Winter Conference 2026. Normal operations will resume Friday, February 6, 2026 at 8:00am.

Navajo Transit System will begin charging a $3.00 bus fare to utilize our public transportation
system. This bus fare will go into effect on March 2, 2026. We have been fortunate to have
provided fare-free service for the last six years. Unfortunately, we must reimplement this bus fare
for various reasons.

The Navajo Division of Children and Family Services' Department of Child Care and Development would like to announce closures for the month of February in the communities of Crownpoint, NM; Shiprock, NM; Fort Defiance, AZ; St. Michaels, AZ; Chinle, AZ; Many Farms, AZ; Tsaile, AZ; Pinon, AZ.
